くまのがっこうシリーズに比べると、登場人物？が少なく、
たくさんの小物も出てこないので、あいはらさんとあだちさんの絵本にしては、最初地味な印象だったのですが…。
絵本を開いてみると、シンプルなお話に、抑えた色使いの絵がとても素敵でした。
うさぎちゃんの表情が、すごく可愛くて、読んだ後、なんともほっこりと暖かい気持ちになれる本です。
６歳の娘も、とても気に入っていて、何度も自分で読み返しています。
うさぎちゃんのようにゆきだるまが作りたくて、冬と雪が待ち遠しくて、しかたないようです。

最初に表紙を見た時は幼児にはちょっと地味かもと思いましたが、
本を開くと２歳の息子はとても嬉しそうに自分でページをめくりながら
絵に見入っていました。
可愛いうさぎちゃん、優しい色使いと飾らない絵に、素朴な温かさを感じます。

ウサギゆえかテンションはあまり高くなく割と淡々と遊んでいるのですが、
それでも充分楽しそうで、真っ白な初雪が積もった嬉しさが伝わってきます。
特に、お隣のウサギのお兄ちゃんも大きな雪だるまを作っていたというところが愉快で、
うさぎちゃんが転んで笑うシーンとともに息子のお気に入りです。
自分が初めて雪遊びをした時のことを思い出しては、本を見ながら
色んなことを話したりうさぎちゃんの真似をしたり。

賑やかな本ではないけれど、一面の銀世界の静けさと雪を愛でる気持ちが
しみじみと伝わってきて、読み返すたびに優しい気持ちにさせてくれます。

本屋さんで娘(5歳）がこの本を見つけました
そのときは他にもたくさんの絵本を見ましたが
「これが一番いい」と言い張り、買うことにしました
文字数もそれほど多くないので読み聞かせるのにも疲れないし
1人で読ませるのにもいいです
派手さはないですが、長い間飽きずに楽しめそうです
何より、うさぎちゃんが可愛い〜！
