　この本のいいところは、他の鍋料理の本と違い、材料と出来上がりが写真になっているのみならず、食べる順番や、食べかたのコツまでもが写真になっているところがいいと思います。すきやきならまず肉→野菜→〆と、おいしく食べる食べ方がよくわかります。〆もごはんとうどんだけでなく、そうめんやそばなど、色々なアイディアがいっぱい。どれもこれも作ってみたくなります。小難しくなく、写真が綺麗なので読むだけでもいいのですが…。
　巻末に小鍋（大人数で食べるものではなく、一人鍋）特集があるのも、一人暮らしにはいいのかも、と思います。お酒のつまみ的鍋もあるので、是非参考にしたいところです。

素材の選び方に料理研究家らしいひねりが加えてあって
例えば、春菊ではなくてクレソンやセロリを選んだり
えごまの葉、花山椒（2カップ！）、ふぐ皮、はも、はす芋、黒ぐわい、と
良くいえば新しい、正直いうとちょっと日用的ではない印象をうけました。
腐乳や辣椒醤なんかは馴染みがなさ過ぎて、代替案を出してほしいところ。
そういうわけで、よそゆき風でおもてなし時などに映えると思いますが
ふつうの鍋に飽き足らなくなった方、二冊目以降の鍋の本に、という感じでした。
ひとつひとつの鍋にあわせてきしめん、餅、焼きおにぎりなどの
〆を提案してくれているのはうれしい。
小体な本でページデザインも洗練されていて美しいです。

松田美智子さんの料理書は、いつもモダンな美意識に溢れていて、見ているだけでも楽しい。健康的で、時間に例えるなら午前中。これから昇っていく太陽の白い光を思い起こさせる。つまり若々しく、常に新しい感じがするのです。
そして、見ているだけでなく、その正確で丁寧なレシピで実際に作ってみて、さらに感激する。本当に美味しいからです。ご自分が研究し尽くされた料理のレシピを惜しげなく披露されている寛大さにも、感動します。
たとえば、自家製ポン酢は、薬味たっぷりで複雑な味で、季節を問わず、冷蔵庫に常備するまでになってしまいました。
「ワインすきやき」には、一瞬ギョッとしたけれど、牛鍋を赤ワインで食べさせる名店があるくらいだからと、やってみたら、これがなかなかでした！他にも格安ヴァージョンと特上肉版のすきやきが紹介されており、食べ比べてみるのも一興かもしれません。
この冬は毎週末、鍋パーティーをしようかな。
