コミックスをオンラインで買ったので、帯にある文章を見るまで、
本当に中島みゆきさんの曲名からきているとは知りませんでした。
「あぶな坂」をモチーフに描かれたオムニバス短編集です。短編といっても1話40P位ありますが…。
（※「あぶな坂」はアルバム「私の声が聞こえますか」に収録されています）
（※また、アルバム「いまのきもち」にも再録音バージョンが収録されています。
　「なんで今頃『あぶな坂』？」と思ったのですが、こちらからイメージしたのかも？）

同曲「あぶな坂」をベースに描かれているのですが、
読んでいると「夜会『24時着 ０時発』」「ミラージュ・ホテル」を思い出します。
この世とあの世の狭間に建つ「あぶな坂HOTEL」。
ホテルの女主人の容貌はこころなしか中島みゆきさんに似ています。
「あぶな坂HOTEL」4本と、巻末にショートストーリー「天使のはなし」収録。
萩尾先生の短編は、いつもながら密度が濃く良質です。

短編集としても秀逸ですが、基になった中島みゆきの「あぶな坂」を聞いていると３倍は楽しめます。特にホテルのオーナーの女性が曲のイメージにぴったり。ただし曲のように暗い話ばかりでなく、どちらかというと読後にすがすがしさを感じられる短編になっているのが萩尾 望都さんの素晴らしい力量だと感じました。『あぶな坂』が入っているのはこちらのアルバムですいまのきもち(紙ジャケット仕様)

「ここはあぶな坂ホテル。この世とあの世のあわいに建つホテルです。
お帰りになるもゆかれるも、お客様のお心しだい…。」
謎の女性オーナーと従業員、訳も分からずホテルに吸い込まれ逡巡する様々な宿泊客達。
その生き様や自己愛と家族愛、生きる者と死にゆく者、迷いと決断は、
どうしようもなく切なく、時に涙がとめどなく流れます。
昔の大作家も流行り廃りに左右されてトーンダウンしていく事が多い昨今、
この方の描く精神世界はいつも変わらず心に響き、
その画風の何にも左右されない芸術性も素晴らしい。
本当の天才とはこの人の事かも…。
ある意味、『あぶない丘の家』の姉妹編とも言える本作品、
１〜２冊で完結させる事が多い著者の最近の短編連作ですが、
シリーズとしてずっと読み続けられたら嬉しいです。
