私は、離婚訴訟を手がける弁護士だが、依頼人の気持ちが分からなくなることがたまにある。女性の依頼人が離婚原因として挙げる理由で最近増えているのが、夫から暴言を吐かれたり、バカにされるという「精神的暴力」だ。私なら、暴言を吐かれたら１００倍にして言い返してやるのに、なぜこの女性は黙って我慢してしまうのだろう、と思ってしまう。妻から離婚を求められた男性の依頼人の場合、なぜ妻が離婚したいのか分からないという人が多い。何年も一緒にいて、なぜ妻が離婚したくなるか分からないの？と不思議に思う。その理由が知りたくて買ったのが、この本だ。
内容は、離婚を考えている女性向けの本だが、女性の気持ちをよくつかんでいて、細かい心遣いを感じるくだりが多い。読んだ女性はきっと癒されるだろう。最近、妻との間がしっくりいかない、と思っている男性が読めば、きっと参考になると思う。
