自分が愛した人が「男」でも「女」でもなかったら？

私たちは当たり前のように恋をして、
当たり前のように「男」と「女」として体を重ねるが、
それさえもできない人たちが、２０００人に１人いる。
そういう現実を描いたマンガ。

認知度が低く、非常に重いテーマのわりには、
説教くさいところなど微塵もなく、
適度に笑いもちりばめながら「愛」や「性」について語る。

エンターテインメントとして楽しみ、泣かされながら、
社会的な問題について考えされられる。
そんな難題をやってのけたこのマンガ家に、拍手を送りたい。

一人でも多くの人に読んで欲しい。

ISという題材に興味があったので読みました。正直なところ、絵柄はあまり好みじゃないんですが、題材をまじめに取り扱った作品です。2000人に1人という確率を知って、「そんなにいるの？」と驚きました。自分の身近にいてもおかしくないような数字ですよね。それなのに、性同一障害などに比べてもISの認知度は低いような気がします。それだけ本人たちが隠さざるを得ない状況ということでしょうか・・・。この本の登場人物たちも、ごく身近にいそうで親近感がもてます。それだけにISの人たちがどれだけ苦しんでいるんだろうと考えさせられます。ぜひ読んでみてください。

重い題材を扱っているのに非常に読み易い．そのことに驚いた．ファンタジーとして書いているわけではない．テレビ番組の特集のように被害者意識だけを強調しているなんてこともない．作者の努力に拍手を送りたい(絵は別として…)．まだ2巻までしか読んでいないけど非常に面白かった．

このレビューを書いている時点で単行本として発売されている分に関してはインターセックスに関する短編集という作りになっています．女として生きてきて心も女，男として生きてきて心は女，生まれたときからの話で心は男で体は女の3通り．

インターセックス(や性同一性障害)に関する理解を広めようとする本は幾つもあるけど，その目的にかなっており誰でも読めるという作品は僕が読んだ範囲では本書だけです．他は専門的だったり極端に個人的だったりして理解を広めるという効果が薄いものばかりだった(僕にとっては面白い作品であっても)．この本はその点において大きく違う．
