最初はとっつきにくく感じますが、やがて物語の独特の幻想世界と先行きが気になって、グイグイ引きこまれしまいます。この本の売りでもある山尾悠子さんの訳もいい味出してて、いい雰囲気を醸し出してます。
残酷さと狂暴性が前面に出されるかと思えば、フッと脱力系のユーモアが顔をのぞかせたりして、またそのバランスが絶妙に配されてます。
三部作の第１作目ということですが、続きがはやく出版されることを切望します。こんな終わり方って気になるじゃないですか！

「傲慢きわまりない主人公の罪と贖罪の物語」と一言では片付けられない深い物語です。
盗まれた白い果実、青い鉱石になる鉱夫、紫のドラッグ、クリスタルと珊瑚でできた都市、硫黄鉱山、ローズイヤースィート、そして薄緑のヴェール。
色彩の渦の中で時間も空間も乗り越えて楽園をめざす人々の姿がせつなく、この後どんな展開になるのか２作目が気になります。
読み終わるともう一度最初から、伏線を拾いながら読みたくなる麻薬のような味わいがあります。
何よりもこの物語を気品ある日本語で読めることに感謝しつつ、３部作をいっきに読める日がくることを心待ちにしております。

ファンタジー好きにはたまりません。
なんだか、不思議で悲しい都市。ちょっと怖くてドキドキしながら読んでました。

三部作なので、本当に続きが待ち遠しいです。
