問題の質と網羅性はやや偏った感がありますが、
解説の詳しさは市販の文法書の中ではトップクラスです。


常に一定の手順で問題を解説し、単に文法知識を増やすだけではなく
「いかにして解くか」ということにこだわっています。
文法問題はもちろんのこと、根本的な英語力と思考力を磨いてくれる一冊です。

特に難関大の文法問題は文法知識のみならず思考力を重視した問題が多いので
文法が難しい大学を受験される方には特にお薦めです。


また、富田系でいく人にとっては必須ともいえる一冊です。
というのも、富田先生のやり方は文法（という言葉のルール）と
論理を駆使するのが基本ですが、富田先生の著書で本書ほど
文法そのものについて徹底的に書かれているものがないからです。

この本の特徴は、ほとんど和訳しないで解いていきます。
逆に和訳するとややこしくなるからするなとも著者は言っています。
こちらとしてはその解法が楽しく、
知らない単語が出ても余裕に対応ができるようになりました。
しかし、一部は熟語をしっていないといけないので注意しないといけません。
とりあえず新しい文法の解法を知りたい方は、買って得すること多々ありかと思われます。

彼の教え方を素直に受け入れることのできる人には受験という人生における戦場で非常に大きな武器になってくれるだろう。
時制と相を別の概念であるところを受験参考書で示しているところは評価に値する。事実、文法問題を解く場合はこの解法のほうが速く正確に解答を導き出せるだろう。
なにより、彼の論理的な正答に到るまでの解説はおもしろい。
文法問題は文法で解くという意味に頼らない姿勢は、目からウロコが落ちるやもしれない。
しかし、彼の思想を受け入れられない人には到底理解できないままになってしまうだろう。
また現代英文法ではいかがなものかという問題、解答、プロセスが載っていることも事実である。
改定をできることなら望むが彼は多忙でありそれは望めないであろう。
