自分の中では１０年に一度の傑作だと思った。

熊太郎が自分のようで、そして身近な誰かのようで、とにかく読むのが苦しかった。（文体は逆に楽しく、苦しみながらもふき出してしまう場面多。そこが妙でまた特別な印象を残しました。）

ところが弥五郎の登場が快挙で、彼の強さが小気味よく、全てがｫく進んでも弥五郎がいるなら大丈夫、というちょっとした保険のような安心感で、物語も（悲惨ながらも）面白くなったと思う。なぜなら読者は彼が最後の討ち入りまでついてきてくれる事だけは知っているのだから。

大量殺人に一緒についてきてくれる同士がいる、というのはある意味ですごい。そんな友達を持っていた熊太郎は幸せだったと思う。

問題の討ち入りはまるで最後には忠臣蔵のようで、語弊はあるかもしれないけれど、「いよいよその時か」というような、いさぎよさ、すがすがしさ、静、というものを感じました。

これだけの長さがあったからこそ、そういう雰囲気が出せたのでは、と思います。

蛇足ですが、酒屋を襲うシーン、最後の討ち入りのシーンの躍動感、疎外感を獅子舞の被り物から見た世界とリンクさせる場面、葛城ドール、葛城モヘアというネーミングのセンス、。衝撃的でした。

　僕は根っからの町田さんの大ファンであるっていうことは別にしても
これは最高に素晴らしい作品であると思う

　本当のことをまだ一度も言ってない　それは、決して特殊な場合の人
の話でなく、僕ら皆に言えることなんじゃないでしょうか？

　町田さんの作品にしては悲し過ぎる　「人間の屑」をちょっと思い出
しました　ただ、６００ページにも及ぶ作品の持つ言葉は凄い

　前作「パンク侍」が、本当に人生に何の役にも立たない、でもそこが
最高！だったのに比べて、本作には、考えさせられることがたくさん。
　ただ、そういう途端に爆笑させるから口惜しい！最高！

　あかんではないか

A Kid's Review
町田康の集大成にして最高傑作。
主人公の内面の狂気に迫るねちっこい言葉と、人物間でかわされる
軽妙な河内弁が、壮大な物語を織り上げて読者を圧倒し翻弄する。
「紀州の伝さん」「正味の節ちゃん」「合羽の清やん」といった
脇役も光っていて、今思い出しても笑いがとまらない。
あまりにも深刻なストーリーとあまりにも笑えるディテールが
絶妙に配合されている点に、町田康の天才が感じられる。
従来の文豪には生み出せなかった大傑作であり、文学の愉悦を
これほどまでに味わわせてくれる作品はあまりないだろう。
絶対買うべし。
