この本は一見薄くて頼りなさげに見えるが、中身は濃い！基本から応用まで、人体をデッサンするならこの書は押さえておきたい。細かい注意点を、手取り足取り教えてくれる感じがする。読めば読むほどリアルな人体の描き方がわかる。これほどまでに詳しい書は他に知らない。Ａ・ルーミスの著書とあわせて読むことを強く勧めたい。しかしこちらがあまり有名でないようなのが疑問だ。この書が広まることを祈る。表面上どう見えるか、が主眼なので、この書を学んだのち解剖学からのアプローチを試みれば、さらに理解が深まることうけあいである。必読の書！

子供の頃に油彩を10年ほど習っていたのですが、人体デッサンはほとんどやったことがなく、
人体デッサンを基礎からやり直そうと思い、良いと言われている本を何冊か買いました。
その中では、初心者にはこの本が一番良いのではないかと思います。
他の本は、すでに完成した絵が載っていて、途中経過があまりなく、突き放したような
ところがありますが、この本は、基本的な描き方がStep by Stepで詳しく載っています。
目、口、鼻、耳といった顔のパーツについても、構造をしっかりと解説してくれています。
作例も、パーツごとに非常に豊富に載っており、とても参考になります。
今まで上手いイラストや写真をまねて描いていただけ、という人がステップアップするには、
最適な教科書だと思います。マイナーな出版社の地味な本ｗですが、オススメです。

5.0 out of 5 stars 正に、人体の『描き方』に特化した本, 2008/1/20
解剖図や裸婦の写真だけ見せられて「人物の構造はこうなっています。同じように描いてください」と言われても難しいものがある。
この本はそこをしっかり抑えていて「人物の構造はこうなっているから、このような描き方で描いてください」という風な具合。
顔、頭、全身、胴体、首肩、腕、手、脚、足と身体の部位に分かれて描き方が載っている。
また、簡単にではあるが骨格と筋肉も載せてあり、絵を描く分には十分すぎる知識も身に付く。関節が曲がる具合も描かれている。

なんとなくで人体の絵を描いてきた自分には、絵のレベルを2も3も上げてくれる本になった。
