浅野いにお作品は、一通り読ませていただきましたが、これは傑作の部類だと思います。
ふと一人で居る時などに、何度も読み返しそのたびに喪失感に襲われます。
初めて見た作品が「ソラニン」であり、それから興味を持ちいにお作品を読み漁りました。


高校時代に読みたかったと思いましたが、いにお作品は少年から大人に成長して
初めて理解できる作品だと自己解釈できました。それと同時に少年時代の自分の
恥ずかしく、痛い思い出を思い出し軽く自己嫌悪になったりしましたｗ

文中の「東京」と言う作品は、途中から作者がモデルの話だと分かりましたが、
作品のセリフの一つ一つが自分に重なり読んでて切なくなってしまいました。


浅く感傷的でいいじゃないか、私はこの作品が好きです。

はっきり言ってこの手のマンガはレビューを書くのが難しい。
「面白い」という言葉は当てはまらないし、「泣ける」ということでもない。
あえて言うならば「感銘を受けた」ということになるだろうか。

物語は基本的にささいな日常の暗い部分を描いているが、ほんの少しの光がある。
それがどれだけ小さいものであっても、読者はその中に「希望」を見出すことができるだろう。

浅野さんの描いたそのちっちゃな「希望」に私は「感銘を受けた」のだと思う。

初期の短編集である。

氏のテーマ「誰かに必要とされること」について、
繰り返し問うていく。

人は必要とされるから生きていけるのか？
必要とされない人生は不毛なのか？
答えがたくさんある問い、答えがない問い、
は答えるのが難しい、と言ったのは内田樹だが、
まさにそのとおりだと実感する。

マンガを通して、
読者は自問するだろう。
「オレは誰かに必要とされているのか？」と。

その問いかけるという「行為」こそ、
とても大切なことだと思うのだ。
