　新宿のTOWER RECORDSで5月5日16時から１時間、坂本龍一・大谷龍生・山下洋輔のスコラ2に関するトーク・ショーがありました。選曲者・山下洋輔は1969年以降は自分のスタイルを作ってしまったため、ジャズ全般を系統的に聴くような聴き方をしていないとの理由で本巻は1962年のセシル・テイラーまで。山下が「子供の頃から自然に触れてきたものを順に上げてきたというところ」で、きわめて個性的な選曲になっています。フリージャズ直前までで、かえってジャズの骨格が見えるかたちになっているようです。なお、坂本龍一によると山下のプレイ・リスト初案はもっと個性的だったそうです。
　Scholaは『ドビュッシー』『ラヴェル』『ロック（ベースとドラムス）』『古典派』と年3巻くらいのペースで続くそうです。レーベルを超えて自由に選曲しているせいでしょうか、著作権のせいか、価格が高いのが難点です。

ジャズの知識が全く無い自分にもジャズの歴史が判りやすく聴けました。初心者には贅沢すぎる入門盤です。3氏による鼎談は教科書1冊分の内容です。やはりモダン・フリージャズの選曲盤も欲しいところです。マイルス・デイヴィスやハービー・ハンコック辺りも聴きたいです。この点は推薦盤で補っているようですが短いコメントが欲しかったです。『JazzU』を補巻してみてはどうでしょうか? 内容は星5ですが、書籍代が痛い価格で星4にしました。
