この本が出てもう７年にもなる。そのころはまだピンとこなくて、「まあ未来はそんなとこかな」と思っていたけれど、今度読み返してみたら、グッと現実味を覚えたのでびっくりした。もちろん、ITやインターネットの普及が一番の原因だ。それと景気の悪化。いよいよ資本主義も行き詰まってきたのだ。

今の時代を読み解くカギとして、とくに若い人にお勧めしたい。

　社会評論の本です。情報化社会、ＩＴ革命などと喧伝されるこんにちですが、第３の波などといわれる割には、今ひとつピンとこない方、大勢いらっしゃるでしょう。本書は大変ユニークな視点を提供し、明快に現状を整理します。そして、意想外な未来社会を描き出します。トンデモ本ではありません。読みやすくていねいな文章と論理構成で書かれた、マジメな本です。

未来はこの本のようになると、断言しても構わない。

情報化という抗えない大きなパラダイムの中で
人の意識は自然と変貌していく。そしてその変貌した先は
色々な価値観と生き様が互いに洗脳しあって支持されあう様な
金銭よりも価値観を取る、洗脳社会になるはずである。
その結果としてより自分主体の生き方、他者との関係を

深くまで刻まずにより多くの価値観を乗りこなすような
そんな社会が形作られ、今ある学校、会社、家族、そういった
集合体は形を変え崩れていく・・・・。
人類には悲しくも享楽的な見えない楔が着実に打ち込まれる。

この本が書かれた当時、果たしてどれだけの人が
今のインターネット文化や社会、事件を予測しえていただろうか？

いまだにこの本を超えるほど明確な、そして根拠ある
未来像、近未来社会を掲示した本に出会ったことがない。
私の中で今後の日本の社会、将来、未来を語る上で根幹となる本。
少なくとも自分の子供が自分と似たような価値観を
持っているなんていう甘い妄想は捨てられます。
